TVTT Yellow Ajah Edition – Yellow Healing

Yellow Healing has always been one of the more mysterious aspects of the Yellow Ajah. What it means for each person is unique, and during this difficult pandemic time, it has certainly meant a lot to the Yellows and their Bondmates. One thing is for sure, Yellow Healing is what we make it, and whatever brings us meaning and gives us and our loved ones the strength to go on through the difficult times. Here are some of the things that Yellow Healing means to us.

Estalia Walburga:

Estalia has created a foundation, Dawn Rises, that focuses on women’s health and wellness. She also has a Dawn Rises podcast on Spotify. Her podcast showcases personal healing stories and aims to encourage listeners on their own healing journeys, whatever those may be. Great work, Estalia!

Naedys Channirra:

Naedys organizes a free weekly talk called Edgeways! Here is more information about Edgeways:

Welcome to EDGEWAYS… Where we explore the paths less taken, the forgotten stairwells of history and the unanswered questions of art, science and magic. EDGEWAYS Saturday Night Gatherings were originally organised for a few friends to come together to dispel loneliness and promote a sense of community over lockdown, inspired by the words of a dear friend to many of us, David Southwell – “We should strive to be engines of kindness and community”…

We have now grown into a fantastically diverse group.

A new free talk is scheduled every week via Zoom, followed by much needed social time and discussion. An engine of kindness and community indeed.

Nyavene al’Meer:

For Nyavene, Yellow Healing looks like getting outside to exercise and enjoy the great outdoors, and nothing is better for healing than rock climbing! She started climbing in a gym about four years ago, and has since expanded to outdoor climbing.

In the first picture, Nya is ascending the chain ladders near Tugela Falls in the Drakensburg range.

In the second picture, she is descending from Cathedral Peak in the Drakensburg through Orange Peel Gap.

The final photo is of Nya rock climbing near her home in Bronkhorstspruit.

Thanks for sharing these photos, Nya!

Eliza al’Shaw:

My YouTube channel “Bevvy with Beth” is dedicated to helping people with PCOS to feel a little less alone on this journey. There is such little information available about the condition, I had to do so much of my own research and experiment on myself! I hope, by sharing my findings and experience, I can help someone else understand the condition and find a way to balance their hormones.

Idine Espanyas:

To me, part of Yellow Healing means being there for each other. Whether it is sharing something difficult we are struggling with and asking for healing and Yellow vibes, or sharing selfies every Yellow Selfie Friday, I’ve definitely depended on my Ajah to help me get through this difficult pandemic time.

TVTT Yellow Ajah Edition – Crafty Yellows!

The Yellows sure are a crafty bunch! From knitting and crocheting to beading and quilting, we love to keep our hands busy and express our creativity. Here are some craft projects that the Yellows have been working on recently.

Elania al’Manir:

This was the first bracelet I made. It has yellow main beads with purple spacer beads. It represents my warder Brandon, who is in DM, and me.

This is another bracelet I made. The darker stones are garnet, my birthstone, and the lighter ones are ruby, my fiancé’s. The small spacer beads are Swarovski crystal.

Slàine al’Eir:

Slàine loves to knit and cross stitch, and she has been flying through the projects lately! She also does knitting projects for commission, and if you would like to see more of her lovely work, you can find her on Instagram: @owlsnestcreations.

Dragon scale mittens recently completed for a client:

Slàine shared her progress on the Tiny Modernist Halloween Stitch-Along:

She also knits gorgeous shawls for commission pieces:

Reusable water balloons: both fun and eco-friendly!

Idine Espanyas:

I decided to get back into cross stitching in the Fall of 2019, and it turned out to be the perfect timing to pick up a DIY hobby! Lately, I’ve been working on a series of Disney princesses in art deco style. The patterns are made by Make it Pink, and they are based on the artwork of Hannah Alexander. I started Tiana a few weeks ago and have been working on Belle for several months.

I am also participating in Satsuma Street’s Wizard of Oz Stitchalong. Here is one of the panels, a scene of the Good Witch and the munchkins:

TVTT Yellow Ajah Edition – Show Us Your Shawls

We all know a TVT Takeover is never complete without shawl pictures… So without further ado, here are some photos of the Yellow shawls! While Yellow does not have a unity shawl tradition as some other Ajahs do, the crafty ones among us have made shawls for ourselves and our siblings. Enjoy!

Elania al’Manir:

I made four of these, one for each Yellow attending Anni 2018. I was Head of the Yellow Ajah at that point and was raising two people live. I figured if I was already making two, and I wanted one for myself, I might as well make one for the fourth person as well! Owners: Elania, Autumn, Fern, Nebka.

I’ve always loved pashminas. I wanted something light and airy, so I bought one and did super simple embroidery in the outline of a flame. In hindsight, it’s not the best material to stitch as it’s so loose, but it more or less worked out.

The last photo is Elania’s first shawl, which she received as a gift upon her Raising in 2017.

Idine Espanyas:

Idine is very proud of her gorgeous shawl, made by Tar Valon’s very own Roheryn Sedai.

Branwyn al’Leara:

A lovely photo of Branwyn in her shawl, which she made herself. The photo was taken at the 10th Anni Party in Charleston, SC.

Luna Morn:

Luna picked out the materials for this gorgeous shawl and had it made by a local tailor. Looking good, Luna!

Slàine al’Eir:

Slàine was gifted this beautiful shawl at the 2009 Anni Party in Washington State.

Sa’areah Britthorn:

Sa’ (right) and Arien (left) show off their pretty shawls.

Check out Sa’s awesome Yellow Ajah tattoo! Next project: design a Yellow Ajah tattoo…

Winterdawn Lightheart:

Here is a photo of Winter at her live raising ceremony at the 11th Anni Party in Estes Park, CO. She’s also wearing the famous Traveling Accepted Dress. Below, another photo of Winter proudly wearing her new Yellow shawl.

Naedys Channirra:

Here is Naedys Sedai in a cozy Yellow shawl of her own, perfect for cool Fall weather.

Eliza al’Shaw:

We’ll finish with Eliza Sedai, wearing her beautiful new shawl after being Raised live at Euro Party 2019 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Thanks for sharing your shawl photos with us!
