TVTT DM Edition – Dai M’Hael Highlight

DM Highlight

Dai M’Hael Company
Highlight of May 2019

The Dai M’Hael Company, or DM for short, is one of the four Companies created and existing only at The group was the spotlight on our social media during the month of May 2019.

The first post we decided to share is a short description of the Company, in their own words:

description of Dai Mhael company at

But wait, there was also trivia! We asked the followers of our Facebook page and Instagram :

question - what does Dai Mhael mean in the Old Toungue
And many answered correctly! It means Battle Leaders!

We also asked you when was Dai M’hael founded, and if you didn’t already know this, then you will be interested to find out that it was back in January 2002!!!

For the WoT centered trivia, we asked you:

question - who were the five Great Captains in Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time

And of course, you answered correctly! Agelman Jagad, Davram Bashere, Gareth Bryne, Pedron Nial and Rodel Ituralde are the Five Greatest Captains, mentioned in the books!

And another one, which got many people wondering was:

question - who secceeded Arthur hawkwing at the siege of Tar Valon
But the correct answer is Souran Maravaile, who was Artur Hawkwing’s best general and husband to Ishara, the first Queen of Andor.

In the spirit of this Company’s purpose and meaning, we decided to share this great quote too:

quote from the Wheel of Time - The sweetness of victory and the bitterness of defeat are a like a knife of dreams.

That month we featured several WoT characters, which the DM Gaidin think will fit in nicely within the Company:

  • Sammael
  • Gareth Bryne
  • Talmanes Delovinde (featured also here on our blog – here)
  • Davram Bashere

The Dai M’Hael company have their own Headquarters in our Library, where you can check more information on them: Dai M’Hael

TarValon.Net Wheel of Time Re-read

TarValon.Net is hosting a Wheel of Time Re-read!

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose suddenly in a small city by a river. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.
Inspired by The Eye of the World

The wind spread its wings and it sounded excited to be blowing in this exact direction. It opened a window and let itself inside. With its remaining power it did one last thing – it blew open a book left lying on a table…

A girl sitting in the room felt the wind passing through and turned around. She rose from where she was sitting and went to the table, where a book had been blown open. It was one of her favorite books – The Eye of the World.

With the Wheel of Time TV show coming really soon, it is now the perfect time to brush up on our Wheel of Time knowledge, to turn the Wheel and do yet another re-read of the books!

This is why TarValon.Net is happy to announce that we will be running a site-wide (international) re-read of the Wheel of Time series!

We will begin (of course) with The Eye of the World! The reading of Book 1 will officially begin on May 3, 2021 (Monday) and will run for a total of eight weeks. There will be discussions about each of the books that will take place on TarValon.Net’s forums and everyone is welcome to join!

So, get your copy of The Eye of the World ready! You can read along with us on paperback, e-reader, phone, desktop monitor, or audio book! We are excited to have you join us!

Member Spotlight – Analiese Sinclaer

Our outgoing Company Commander of the San d’ma Shadar Company, Analiese Sinclaer, is one of our Member Spotlights for the month of April. Analiese has served her Company in all aspects – she has been an Honour Guard and served in the Hall as Warder Councilor, prior to her term as Company Commander. Outside of her Company, Analiese has also served as part of the Outreach Activities Team and has been part of the Social Marketing Team.

In real life, Analiese is a mother of two and she is married to Kelvin Sinclaer, Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah. Currently she is staying at home and homeschooling her son during the pandemic. The plan is to continue homeschooling even after the world returns to normal.

Before the world went crazy last year, Analiese’s hobbies included being more social by playing with her nieces and nephews, and going to events such as Renaissance Faires and traveling. Because these things cannot really be done now, due to safety reasons, Analiese likes to spend her time reading fanfiction, playing D&D Beyond with friends over skype, video gaming and watching TV shows.

Analiese says she found TarValon.Net a long time ago and really wanted to join, however it wasn’t possible due to the computer lab at school not letting students create accounts. After getting the internet at home and being able to create an account, she finally joined us in 2010 and has fluctuated between low and high activity due to that nasty Real Life keeping her away.

The first time she joined TarValon.Net Analiese said she “had a blast in the Guilds” and enjoyed playing around the City. Later, after reaching the level of Accepted, real life demanded her attention and so Analiese decided to retire. By the time she joined again, the community had decided to include Integration, which enabled Analiese to choose the path of Gaidin.

What is really incredible about Analiese’s raisings through the ranks is that she was able to have two live raisings! First to Soldier and then later to Gaidin, on the exact same day, exactly one year apart at TarValon.Net’s Anniversary Parties.

When asked about finding her home Analiese says, “I picked SDS because of the Creed… it just kinda resonated.”

Analiese has always had her Brothers’ full support as a member of SDS and she says that being their Company Commander has been “really wonderful.” She hopes to serve in this capacity again, hopefully once the world is back to normal and they can gather together at parties and drink the infamous SDS traditional drink – the Don Julio 1942 tequila.

TVTT VC Edition – Val’Cueran Highlight

Val’Cueran Company
Highlight of May 2020

Val’Cueran or VC for short is one of the four Companies at TarValon.Net and was featured on our social media in May of 2020. Like all our Companies, Val’Cueran has a mascot, official colors, and logo. We asked you if you know which are their official colors:

Actually, the image behind the text was a hint in and of itself. Many people guessed correctly that VC’s official colors are indeed Red and Gold. Their logo is this:

VC’s mascot is the wolf, so who better to share during their month, than Perrin Goldeneyes!

We shared some amazing fan art of Perrin on our Facebook page, thanks to these Artists: solitarium, Ariel Burgess, and Kira Mayer. VC Gaidin also believe that Perrin would fit greatly into their Company.

In November of 2019, there was a class on Val’Cueran – their history, core values, and traditions – in our Classroom forum, which you can find here.

Regarding their traditions, VC shared a tradition which began recently – Every Gaidin raised to Val’Cueran is gifted a gold wolf pin, and their Aes Sedai have silver.

VC Pins

Soldier Dar’Jen, now aspiring to join the Val’Cueran Company, wrote a blog post explaining what they learned about the Company from their class in the Classroom. Read the blog post here.

In honor of Val’Cueran and their representation in May of 2020, we gathered all wolf names mentioned in the books. You can see the amazing graphic from this blog post here.

And check out the Library resources we have on Val’Cueran, if you are interested, here.
